Happy Birthday

Ash June 27, 2026

I was originally born in Spring, then life fell apart and I died in Fall, but I found life again in Summer.

When my therapist and I were talking one day, I'd shared about the first time I publicly (outside of my chosen family) identified as Ash and as non-binary. It was on June 21st, at Pride, in the big city near us. My therapist mentioned that it was as if that was the birth of Ash; the true start of my life as my own self after moving out and away to a new state, and being with my chosen family. So today I write Happy Birthday to myself.

My wish is that any and all reading this, will also feel alive someday too. It won't fix everything, every day will not be perfect, but it will feel better to be yourself. Not the you that your parents or friends or co-workers might want, but the you that you actually are. My hope is that you'll want to make it to another day.

June 28th is International LGBTQ Pride Day, also the anniversary of the Stonewall Riots. So I decided that today between both of those dates I would finally revive my old love of keeping an online blog.
